The future of quantum technology won’t be built by physicists alone.
It will also be shaped by the people who understand data, AI, infrastructure, and real-world systems.
In our recent episode of Women in Quantum, I had the pleasure of speaking with quantum physicist, AI leader, and entrepreneur Jennifer Prendki about the evolving intersection of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and data strategy.
Jennifer’s journey is fascinating.
She began as a particle physicist working on experiments connected to the Stanford Linear Accelerator, studying the deep symmetries between matter and antimatter.
From there, she moved into quantitative finance, data science, and leadership roles in AI, eventually becoming one of the voices helping organizations think about how quantum and AI will converge in the next generation of computing.
A few insights from our conversation that stayed with me:
🔹 Quantum will need more than physicists.
As Jennifer points out, the field will require people across disciplines, developers, product leaders, customer success, and marketers who can translate quantum capabilities into real-world use.
🔹 Data quality will matter even more in the AI + quantum era.
More data does not automatically mean better models. Information density and data strategy will increasingly define performance.
🔹 The next frontier may be quantum intelligence.
One of the most provocative ideas we explored is the possibility that intelligence itself may have quantum characteristics, opening fascinating questions about how future AI systems might be trained.
But perhaps what I appreciated most about Jennifer’s perspective is her clarity around leadership.
She believes in building teams with people who learn fast, adapt quickly, and are resilient, traits that matter more than perfect credentials in fast-moving fields like quantum technology.
During Women’s History Month, it feels especially meaningful to highlight leaders who are not only advancing technology, but also helping redefine what leadership in deep tech can look like.
